The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is redrawing the landscape of the intellectual property sector, transforming how data is processed, managed, and secured. As part of this nationwide evolution, PI IP LAW has stepped forward to bridge the gap between frontline legal practice and national administrative infrastructure, collaborating directly with government policymakers to build a smarter, more efficient IP ecosystem.
On June 11th, the Director General of the Intellectual Property Information Bureau and the IP-NEX Task Force team visited PI IP LAW for a discussion on how AI is currently being used in the field and how those insights can inform the direction of the IP-NEX initiative.
The visit was designed to bring practitioner voices into the room — gathering real-world experience and concrete recommendations on data accessibility, AI functionality, and service improvements to help shape the system's construction. PI IP LAW presented its AI adoption journey across core operations, sharing the insights and roadmap it has developed for integrating AI into day-to-day IP practice.
Having established a dedicated AI Transformation (AX) team well ahead of the curve, PI IP LAW has long been at the forefront of digital transformation in patent practice, making it a natural fit to contribute to a national-level IP administration initiative of this scale. The firm remains committed to working closely with the Ministry of Intellectual Property, ensuring that frontline experience continues to shape the future of Korea's IP administration.
