Summary

PI IP LAW has introduced a hybrid office policy to offer its members with fully remote offices.

COVID-19 has changed the working landscape in various ways, and working remotely is definitely one of them. While companies’ ability to let employees work in a hybrid environment has become more valued than ever before, PI IP LAW has introduced a hybrid office policy to offer its members with fully remote offices.

Our trademark team’s Foreign Counsel Farzona Abdullaeva is currently working from her home in the UK. Farzona, who’s been part of PI IP LAW’s trademark team since 2017, got admitted to the Uzbekistan bar in 2021 and chose to stay in London to pursue her studies in Law. Farzona says, “as I was the first in our office to work fully remote, I wasn’t sure at first if things would work seamlessly as I was in Seoul. But it turned out working here in London definitely has benefits since I was able to timely assist foreign clients mostly in Europe and the US. It was also helpful for expanding our market presence globally as I am physically closer to our potential clients on the other side of the world.” She also highlighted the mental benefits of working from home. “Working remotely has mental benefits as it removes the daily stress of commuting to work every day. Instead, it gives you sufficient time to start your work in a good mood after drinking a cup of coffee, even if a hectic day is ahead of you. Furthermore, it allows you to work on your difficult cases without any distractions".

Technical Advisor Claudia Corvalan is our main contributor in our Bio + AI team with her academic career in Biological Sciences. After working for PI IP LAW’s Seoul office for 3 years, she is currently working remotely in her home country Chile. Despite the 12-hour time difference between Santiago and Seoul, Claudia says “things went rather consistently as when I was in the office together with the team members in Seoul thanks to online tools that provide a perfect meeting environment.” She also emphasized that the hybrid office environment allowed her to manage a healthier work and life balance as she could stay together with her family.

From Seoul to London to Santiago sounds a bit far-off, but PI IP LAW’s global team won’t be parted forever – in fact, Farzona and Claudia from our remote offices and also our Managing Partner Daeho Lee will be gathering together very soon in Singapore, during the INTA 2023 conference slated for this May.

As the pandemic has almost reached an end, many workplaces including giant IT firms are declaring an end to remote offices. But PI IP LAW believes that such hybrid working options could boost the organization’s efficiency and productivity. And our principle is not only for those few who are working fully remote, but to all of our professionals who are working together in the hybrid system. Like our motto, Expert-Driven Protections, Business-Driven Results, PI IP LAW will always strive to bring the best business results through our expert-driven approach.
